历史溯源

1929年夏，在北京大学第二体育馆的西南土坡中，发现了米万钟之父米玉及其夫人马氏的坟墓及墓志铭，发现的地点俗称“米家坟”。这一发现，从实物上证明了燕园与米万钟及其勺园的相承关系，也充分说明了勺园历史的悠久。通过墓志铭，我们可以了解米玉的生平事迹及其家庭的一些情况，也可一窥勺园园主米万钟早期的成长。因此该碑有很高的历史价值，现陈列在办公楼内。

History

In the summer of 1929, Mi Wangzhong and his parents' tombs and epitaph were found in the southwest hills by the Second Stadium. This discovery proved the relativity between YanYuan and Mi's ShaoYuan, and showed the long history of it. Through the epitaph we can give a glance to Mi Yu's lifetime and family status, as well as master of ShaoYuan, Mi Wangzhong's early times. Therefore this tablet has a high historical value, and now is displayed in the office building.
