石桥 the Stone Bridge

文物特色

石桥位于湖心岛北侧，总长7m多，其中左右各分为五小段，从湖外向湖心岛的方向，桥石与底柱之间有约0.30m的基座。平桥的石质为长石石英砂岩，有些部分为含砾长石石英砂岩，总体颜色为青灰色与灰白色。桥面原有西式石栏杆，今已无存。

历史溯源

原为西洋楼方外观门前之五孔溪桥。湖心岛是当年和珅淑春园的遗迹之一，当年和珅仿圆明园的“蓬台仙岛”所建的豪华建筑的一景，其后都毁于英法联军。

Distinguishing feature

The stone bridge is in the north of Center Island with 7-meter long, whose both sides can be divided into five sections separately. In the direction of lakeside to the center, there is a 0.3-meter long base between bridge stone and sill pillar. The bridge stone is feldspar quartz sandstone, including some gravel feldspar quartz sandstone, the overall color is cinereous and hoar. There was western style rail, which is not preserved now.

History

It origins from the Five-Hole Creek Bridge outside the Xiyanglou. Center Island of WeiMing Lake was relic of Heshen’s Shuchunyuan, which was destroyed by Britain-France united army.
